Sometimes I talk about armored cars here in Brazil.

Kinja'd!!!

Here are a couple reasons (cctv videos) why a lot of people add weight and kevlar to their cars, my parents included and possibly me in the near future (the i30 above was shot 19 times)

Shit like that happens here on a daily basis.

Guy gets home, they try to rob him.

They were probably trying to kidnap them.

I like how the guy almost gets run over by his own car in the third video, stay classy criminals.

Holy crap!! Is this only in the bigger cities? I guess it does not matter where. What a way to have to live.

Everywhere, more often in big cities. The worst are the highways when it rains or on weekends, bumper to bumper traffic is great for ransacking cars

Mexico is pretty similar. I know about 3 people who come in armoured cars to school.

Most of my friends and family ride in armored cars, such terrible stories about people who died on a traffic light. My next cars will all be bulletproof.

It's terrifying that that needs to be a consideration for a vehicle purchase.

I normally don't condone vigilant justice, but I think drivers should be required to run down perps if possible. Driver #1 gets a gold star

There was this one guy that drove an LR3 that not only crushed the perps' car but also drove after them with flat tires and while getting shot and made them surrender. I'd show it to you but portuguese, you wouldn't understand.

What's more terrifying is that I chose to spend more money buying a normal car than a cheaper armored one because "it won't happen to me", last month that shit in the last video happened to me, but I had some room so I mashed the accelerator, nearly ran the thief over and escaped. When I got home parallel parking was impossible because I was shaking.

I went to Brazil a couple of years ago.. San Paulo. I had a local guy driving me around to visit customers, the rest of the time I stayed in my hotel (including meals). The taxi ride from the airport to my hotel we had a guy trying to run us off the road, props to my driver who knew the game. Beautiful country and awesome people, but the crime is over the top. Don't visit Brazil

There's not a lot we can do, the politicians are corrupt, the poverty will never ever end and living in a 3rd world country will always be like this. Sure we can go to the streets and protest but those things are already imprinted into our society.
